We often receive requests from our clients to add videos to their websites. While we’re happy to do it, clients usually send us a video file. When that happens, we request they upload the video to a video hosting platform, like Youtube or Vimeo, and share the link with us.
But why? Isn’t that just an extra step to getting the video on your website?
Maybe, but it’s worth it in the long run. Directly uploading videos to a website can lead to slower load times and potential display issues on different browsers. By uploading your video to a platform like YouTube and then embedding it on your site, you can avoid these problems. YouTube takes care of optimizing the video’s display across various browsers, resulting in a smoother user experience and a more polished and professional look for your website.
We understand that uploading videos may seem unfamiliar or daunting to some of our client, but don’t worry! We’re here to help. We would be happy to train you on how to upload videos, and we can arrange a screen-sharing session at your convenience. Alternatively, you can visit the YouTube support page to find a step-by-step tutorial on uploading videos from your computer or smartphone.
If you’re unable to upload the video, our Support team is happy to do it for you. Simply send us the login credentials for your YouTube or Vimeo account, and we’ll take care of uploading the video for you. If you have any questions, you can always reach out to us via email at support@infomedia.com.
